An iconic fishing community located along Bayou La Loutre in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, Hopedale (aka La Chinche) was established by Isleño fisherman and trappers after the American Civil War. Though the community was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina, the fishing remains incredible.
