Meet the Original Lens Color & See More Fish

We all know those old heads that still say fishin pole and rubber worm. Their first bass cat only cost them $400, and they won't put ice in your tea if you say anything bad about brim fishin'.

These are the dudes who lived through sunglass innovation. They fished before performance eyewear, and were there for the birth of trolling motors, fish finders, and four strokes. They know their stuff.

To this day, most of them still reach for one lens color, the original FISHING lens - Copper.

Copper was the original, polarized, high contrast lens made for fishing. It's a great option for most applications and especially shines in what we call “Medium Light”.

What is Medium Light?

Medium light means full sun, but often under cover. Imagine flipping grubs under shady banks, pulling bass out of overgrown canals, or canoeing down a river in and out of tree canopies. This is where copper rules. It will keep your eyes protected in high sun, but won't leave you blind when slipping under an old shady oak.

Where are copper lenses best?

Copper lenses are best for inshore and freshwater fishing. They’re great for trout fishing out west, where mountains and vegetation often knock down some of the sun's harsh rays. They’re also great on the rivers of the northeast, where old-growth shadows hold lit up smallmouth. In the salt, they’re great for beach fishing late summer stripers, where conditions change by the minute from fog to full sun.

They’re the original lens, and we’ve got them in stock.
